The staff here doesn't do anything to other sites, so I doubt that this site is going to fall. The problem with the other site was that the staff didn't like this site and ran their site specifically to spite this one.
Dave has run this site the same way he always has. This has been the most sucessful SFGAm forum to date. I think that Dave is definatly doing something right.
I don't think we have anything to worry about. And Six Flags doesn't controll the forums. I don't know why you need to bring that into the conversation. What do you mean they don't "like" this site? If they don't like this site, why does Dave (webmaster) get invited to Media Day and other Public Relation functions? We keep a very harsh No Rumor policy as well as a policy against posting anything that breaks the park rules. I think that this site is though of highly by Six Flags.
I dont know... the lack of productivity on the forums hers has been slow lately... i think we hit 300 posts per day. The other forums are really catching up.
To areo, im just play devils advocate here. But if you keep a harsh no rumor policy, why is there 8 or so pages, about the whizzers removal. That is labled "RUMOR::"
Although there is some usless banter in the Whizzer thread, It's mainly good conversation. It's the only rumor thread that we knowingly have let go. We've cleaned a lot of usless/absurd information out of the topic as it's gone on. Also, if that thread was removed, then 10 more would pop up about the same topic.
