9/11...Where do I start? Okay...I remember, I was sitting in 7th grade science class when this happened and every tv was on the same channel watching. At the time, I didn't really understand what happened. I knew that the buildings were hit, I just didn't know to what extent it impacted this nation.
I now realize that many people died, not only in the planes, but in those buildings. Not only the people who worked in those buildings, but their children who were in a day care center some odd number of floors up. Not only the children, bu...t many firefighters and police officers who risked their lives to safe those children. Not only the firefighters and police officers, but everyones families that were involved. I'm not a guy that prays or goes to church...But Jeez...My prayers really go out to these families.
Hug your family members and friends a little tighter today...You never know when something like this could happen to them. Have a safe weekend.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
Being eight years old at the time, I had no idea what was going on that day. While at the time I did not care, I now look back and I am haunted by what I saw when the second plane hit on live television. So I wish everyone that has been affected that day or weeks, months, or the years after. Rest In Peace.

I was 5 years old and in Day care. However the Daycare person was watching the TV I sat down briefly than went to go play. NO CLUE WHAT WAS HAPPENING! I also remember maybe 2-5 days after seeing the aftermath on TV. My heart goes out to all the Firefighters and Police officers and civilians that died that day.
I was in my freshman year of high school and we were doing some project in one of my classes and some girl came running in saying the towers had been hit. I looked at her wondering what the heck she was talking about. After class got out, I headed upstairs to the common area where you could study and such that had a big tv with what had happened. I feel for those families and such and will always remember what happened this day. Not to mention my friends birthday was today. NEVER FORGET!
Just wanted to know, did anyone here was directly affected by the events that day. If its too emotional to tell, don't. I wouldn't want to force anyone to do so.

I was in 7th grade as well. The planes had hit just before I left for school. Our teacher in our first class didn't mind us watching the news, but after that the administration disabled the news channels in the classrooms so we couldn't see it. I don't think that was the right call to make, or even their call to make because of how historic and major this event was. We have an entire generation of kids that have already begun moving through the school system that have no idea what even happened, but we lived it, and my school wouldn't let us witness it happening, probably just so we could learn fractions or whatever was on the plan for the day.

I wasn't DIRCTLY affected but the place where my mom worked at the time had people in the North Tower on the day of the attacks. However all of them made it out alive.
