1) Amusements parks open 2) Carnivals around the area 3) Waterparks open, and the women that come to them 4) Warm weather 5) Miniature Golf 6) Some summer big movies
I wish we had warm weather all year like other places. Oh, well.

^^Yeah, but you have at most in my opinion 5 great rides per park. Big whoop. Go to California instead, or Texas is close to all season long.

/\ By the way, its not just rides that make a park, its the experience and operations. All the parks here have great operations and offer world class experience. Just saying, rides are one thing but its the experience that gets people there and continue to return. Look at SFGAm, they have great rides, but the experience is awful now and would not mind not going there ever again, I can't stand ads being thrown at me left and right. It is needed, but there are better ways of doing it.
Yes, Cal has great experience and rides too. But not much at KBF other than Xcelerator, DLR is in a class of its own, DCA is getting its well needed work and SFMM has great rides, just as long as they keep operations up, that is an awesome place, not as bad with the ads as SFGAm.

No park is even close to SF GAm with the ads. Last count i made was over 150 in the park and they just keep adding them. This is not including food advertising on food stands either. I am not even sure if the 6 other major parks I've been to this year have that many combined
The reviews of SFGAm on most travel sites were fairly positive up until the past couple years almost every review says "this place is just money grab, you get bombarded with advertisements."
It all goes back to Great America being the only park in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. If people want to go on coasters thats where they go and the park will have as many ads or closes as many rides as it wants. Even if you go to SFMM, which has a rap for being poorly operated, youll see all of the rides open no matter what the crowd levels are because people have options where to spend their money.
For SFMM, the thing was that not all the rides were open, or had 1 train more so than our park. Our park was always known for having all trains for all rides no matter what, but it has gone downhill with Shapiro at the helm. They are closing Triple Play at 8:45 even though the parade starts at 9:30. That's just to save as much money as to not operate that ride. Again, you buy new LED lights, and than you don't operate it for 1 hour and 15 minutes in which it's actually dark out. There have been times when that ride was open during the parade. Of course, the park doesn't warn people with sign in front of the ride that says that this attraction closes at 8:45 so they can save operational money.
You really live with the bad because there is no other amusement park around here. It's not so bad that you can't deal with it though in my opinion. I don't care about the advertisements for the most part, but I think Space Shuttle America, and Iron Wolf are going a little too far with them. The parking lot ones are a little too much too as the park is not an M&Ms park, or Snickers park. If it was Mars candy park, that would be cool, but replacing characters the park has had for advertisements is stupid.
They are advertising like crazy because they are charging so little in admissions, and season pass prices. It's just stupid, and this company will never learn.
These people are charge are about marketing, and that's what they are really doing because that's all they know how to do.
