My mom just told me that they're going to split the 7th Harry Potter movie into 2. One is scheduled to come out May 10 2010 and the other in 2011.

I think it's brilliant, there's no way they could have done it otherwise without sacrificing major plot points. She packed a lot into this book, and not putting it all on screen would have been a shame, now the question is where to split it?

Yeah that's what I was wondering.......Im not saying it's crazy but some might. I think it's a great idea too...they've cut so much out from the movies before and i think it was time that something like this came up.

Makes sense to me considering it's a movie and not a book.

Supernerds get so protective over adaptations....

It was tough enough to fight off my friends about Spiderman 3 and how they raped the Venom character. I'm afraid of what awaits if this happens to Harry 7.

I think they could've done it with the 6th book. That one is just as amazing.

i think it's the only way to do it. The seventh book is so critical and so well done that if they cut so many details out, it could ruin it. I back this decision 100%

I definitely think it's justifiable, but i'm pretty sure the thought process was on the added revenue, not the ability of showing more of the book....i only wish Christopher Columbus was doing them again.
