Saw it at midnight.

I really don't get why people hate the ending so much. If you can find a better way to end that movie, without having to make a horrible sequel, be my guest.

I personally liked it, but Abrams has done much better work before. A lot of the hype around this was just cause everyone wanted to know the monster, and it got people way to excited for a decent movie.

I haven't seen it yet but I love the writer Drew Goddard, don't know much about the director, and of course I love the executive producer JJ abrams.

Is the way they filmed it hard to overcome? (like it was a home video)

the way they fimled it was kind of odd at first because sometimes you didnt see all of a persons face but i liked it after a while because it just made it seem more realistic, like people don't hold the camera perfect, the camera won't catch everything at the perfect moment and it just seemed more like it was really happening.

If you can make it through Blair Witch Project, you can make through this.

I liked it. It was exactly how I thought it would be. The first 20 minutes or so was hard to get through, but once the stuff hit the fan, the movie went by quick.

I really hate it being compared to the Blair Witch Project.
BWC had a 10k budget, this had 30mil, which is still pretty low for a big production.

I've read some interviews with JJ and it's actually really cool to read his whole reasoning behind why it was filmed the way it was filmed.

And I don't know if anyone else noticed this...
SPOILER
What the * was the thing that fell into the ocean at the end when they were on the ferris wheel? And if you play what was garbled at the end of the credits in reverse, it says "It's still alive".
END SPOILER

Thank god I'm seeing it again.

Whoever says that the ending of the movie sucked they don't know what they are talking about, the ending kicked ass. Great movie overall actually, I was really pleased with it.

Why do you hate the comparison? I think Blair Witch was an awesome film. Budget has nothing to do with the quality of work (see "dragon Wars". Great CGI, horrible results.)

Blair Witch and Cloverfield, both very reminicent of the old War of the Worlds radio broadcast

^ There was a sound, that according to some, either said "It's alive", or "Help me". I stayed to the end, but could not make out what it was, or said.
