after getting OWNED by the cowboys, (haha) Rex was not the starter, but by Sundays performance it looks like he's back. The bears should suck up the year, get a good draft pick and take matt ryan.
Rex had a great game, Bears should have come away with that win. In order to win, Bears have to improve:
1: Offensive line is terrible. They were the most overrated unit in football last year and just flat out suck this year. They've got to get some fresh athletic bodies up there that will actually block. This is causing major problems with the running and passing game.
2: Defense got torched. McBride's rookie mistakes going on the inside and not coming away with pics really hurt, not having Vasher and Mike Brown not in there really hurt the Bears passing coverage.
3: Bears D has to FORCE TURNOVERS. The best way to give yourself a chance to win is to get good field position and score on defense, this is how they won last year, havent done it this year.
4: Get some clock management skills for christ sake. The Bears coaching is terrible calling the wrong plays at the wrong time, the last 4 minutes of that game they HAD to get in a hurry up offense and get to the line, and they just dozed around like they were in the first quarter. Near the end of that game, Berrian should have faked an injury for an injury time-out as you only have to sit out 1 play. Instead he sits there, gets up and walks back to the line very slowly, and screws everything up. Rediculous.
5: Cedric Benson needs to stop dancing around, square his shoulders and run the goddamn ball. His low average is not all his fault, but on plays where he's not hit in the backfield he has to RUN and not stop at the line looking for a hole.
6: Rex either has to throw that ball away or take a sack. He made a good descision not throwing it downfield but he's got to tuck that ball away, I saw that strip coming from a mile away. He had a great day and deserves to be the QB, but has got to hold onto that ball.
