You know what, I have come to realize something, it is not Rex that sucks, it is Ron Turner. He is the biggest joke of a coach there is, you want to know why there is no run game, it's because he does not open the game up allowing Rex to do what he is good at, throwing deep. Throw deep, you got Berrian and Hester, two of the fastest receivers in the game, send them deep and have Rex just sling it out there. I think people are blaming Rex too much, but I think a lot more blame should go on Ron Turner. If anyone knows where he came from, he came from U of I, and put that program in the tanks, winning only 8 games in 5 or 6 seasons. He is an awful coach and he should be the one to sit the next game and let Rex open up the offense and make the defense honor the deep game, which will in turn open up the run game, it's that simple. Yea, throwing the deep ball may result in an interception or two, but most people do not realize that Rex has an arm. He can throw the ball nearly 60 yards in the air. But lastly, you can blame one last part of the offense, the offensive line. If Griese gets the exact same protection Rex got, he won't be going far either. That O-line is so bad this year, they need a lot of work. It seems as everytime Rex wants to get some time, its gone, he has nearly 3 seconds before he is touched. It is ridiculous, that line gives no protection. Therefore, I would actually like to see Rex start the next game without the cuffs on his hands and allow him to throw deep.
Also, I really dislike how it's all Rex's fault that the Bears are 1-2, what about Benson, the defense? The defense in the 2nd half against the Cowboys did SHIT. They were absolutely horrendous, even before they started to lose players left and right. Another thing, why the hell aren't the Bears utilizing Hester? Every time he is on the field, it's a fricken run. Never do they pass to him. You can also blame Bradley who dropped a couple passes in his hands last Sunday. You can also blame Moose, he has done nothing so far to help the team. The only one that actually seems like its working is Clark, well, he has always been reliable. I think the Bears need to rethink things through, even look at what the U of I coach now says (I forget his name), he coached Rex while being in FL. He said that Rex is not a good QB, he is a great QB, you just have to use him right, which is not what the Bears are doing. He is a gun slinger, he loves the deep ball and that is what he is good at.
One more thing, anyone tell me the answer to this... You are on Sunday Night Football, so the first play on the 45 yard line, why don't you throw deep to Berrian or Hester for a big play and get some freakin momentum. And don't give me that interception crap, you need to make a statement early and often, stick it to the other team with your strengths and that clearly is the strength of the Bears offense. Not Moose, the deep ball is what got them where they went last year, because using the deep ball opens the run game, which is the other thing that the Bears depend on. So, I know a lot of people are going to be happy with this decision, but you are letting a very good player to waste because of a shitty offensive coordinator.
I think Griese is going to do good, but I don't think he will be able to lead the Bear's to the Super Bowl again. If they do, that's great, but like I said, the Bears should fire Ron Turner and get someone that knows how to properly use the abilities of Rex. Notice that ever since they stopped letting Rex throw the deep ball, he has been struggling? Yea, maybe every play shouldn't be deep, but run the routes deep and one safe man run a short route. But we will see what happens on Sunday, if the Bears lose, I'd say leave Grossman as starting QB for the season and let him play his game, not Turners.

^With todays media the blame has to go somewhere, and ESPN decided 2 years ago that whenever the Bears lose a game its sexy Rexie's fault. If he throws one interception that isn't his fault and the Bears lose because the defense blows a 35-7 lead it will be because of Rex's interception.
The coach had no choice but to sit him, I'm sure it came from someone higher up because thats what ESPN wants to see, so thats what the fans want to see.

/\ I completely agree, this whole move is a media thing. People these days are so easily convinced by the media that it is sick. Can't people make their own decisions?

^The Bears didn't win that game, the Packers lost.
Whoever was calling plays second half should be fired immediatly. We had no offense, we had a drive killing penalty usually on second down every single drive, and of course when Brett Favre is expected to throw on 3rd and long every single freaking drive eventually he will throw an interception.
Bears are still lucky as hell James Jones fumbled those TWO balls at around the 20 yard line because with those scores we still would have won.
That was the most frustrating game I've watched in a really long time, and I watched the Brewers blow countless close games this summer.

Hey Nick, you stated in your post that the Packers technically won; well that is the jist of your post, but did you forget to look at the final score? Not only are you spoiled of offense, you are forgetting that the depleted defense of the Bears were able to shut your offense down in that second half. And our offense kinda started to play offense.

No Dan, without the penalties that killed half of our drives and Mike Macarthy thinking that we could actually run the ball your defense did very little to stop the Packers offense. I never said the Packers technically won that game, I said we blew it and we threw away a perfect opportunity to be VERY alone in the NFC North.

Well, just look at it this way, you people from Wisconsin can get ahead again and blow it at the end to a Chicago team just like in baseball, even though I was rooting for the Brewers in baseball.
