Do I Know You wrote:Bull is right. Unless you've committed a murder-suicide, you can't know what goes through the head of someone who has. Benoit obviously had something wrong with him whether it was drug-induced or not. It is basic human instinct to do whatever it takes to live, and it takes a severe mental disorder to go against that (i.e. killing oneself). I'm certainly not defending his actions; I think they're just as horrible as you all do. But to say he deserves no sympathy is absurd.

Thank you, but unfortunately we seem to be alone in this. It's sad.

On one hand you have a human who killed 2 innocent people

On the other hand you have a person who, at the time, may not have known wrong from right.

Ignorance of the law does not keep you from the law, but if one can not comprehend the law, then what do you do?

We are not the ones to judge his character. We know him only as an actor and facts about his personal life. He could have always have had issues with anger or maybe he had an acute mental degenerative disease. Will we ever know? Maybe. Can we still judge him? No.

That makes three people (myself included). It's true. Instead of dwelling on how or why someone did something terrible to end his and other's lives and acting like you know what it's like to go through what he did and act like you understand it, we should concentrate on the life of Benoit. Remember everything he did for wrestling and remember all the reasons you are gonna, or at least you are supposed to, miss him. It's different if you didn't like the guy. If you didn't respect him then, you don't have reason to respect him now, but then again, who didn't respect him then?

Oh and I almost forgot, even though I said it would be my last post on the matter, I said that figuring that nobody would feel the same way I do. Now that two people seem to understand my point, I no longer feel alone in this. Thank you both.

When you respect someone you trust them, you feel as though they are a good person which is the reason why to respect them. When a person you respect does something like what Mr. Benoit did it not only breaks that trust you had in the person but you lose respect for that person.

I dont understand why you have such a hard time realizing that regardless of who the person was and what he accomplished, the bottomline is he killed his wife and child.

Which means, he's lost all credibility and all sympathy. PERIOD

I agree with Dude & bull...while, I believe it's wrong to take an innocent life for WHATEVER reason, we do not know whether he was cognizant of what he was doing or not....if it WAS the steroids, that kind of stuff can really mess a person up. On the other hand, if it was the fact that he didn't know how to deal with his son's disability, then, while I believe (as I'm sure everyone else does too) that there was a better way to deal with it...but I know just as well as anyone that having a child with a disability, or even BEING someone who HAS a disability, it can be pretty overwhelming, especially with certain aspects of any given disability would be. There have been times where I'VE even questioned why I lived...going through some of the health issues I went through a year or so and the probable consequences OF going through the issues at the time....

So, I don't say that to judge Chris or anything, but I can understand some of the frustration factor if that was indeed the case....but then that's where you have to just walk away for a while and take a breather....

I very rarely watch wrestling anymore, but I did watch a few of his matches...he was good from what I saw....it's unfortunate that he left us...

I haven't watched wrestling in about 3 years now, but it is horrible to see this happen. Granted we don't know the situation he was in, but how could you kill someone let alone your own child?
