Meigs Field?

Actually you could land a Cessna 172 / Piper Cherokee sized plane on that flat field of grass to the left of that picture.

There have been rumors that a defiant group of pilots were to have attempted a stunt like that. I don't know what happened with them though.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

There's a mediocre stage on that land now. Some other stuff too.

Though a concert on that thing would be hell. I think New Trier High School's Auditorium could seat more than that thing...

Not at all to argue with you but I used to live right by O'hare and my parents still live there and I have never seen a small plane fly into O'hare. I will take your word for it though. And by small plane I am refering to the Cessna types not small Corp Jets---those I have seen.

^ What runway approach path do you live under? You probably live under the approach path for a bigger runway so you propably wont see small planes flying in.

- GENERAL AVIATION RAMP AND FBO LOCATED AT THE NORTH EAST RAMP VICINITY OF 27R APPROACH

Thats from the official FAA Airport remarks. So there is a General Aviation ramp and flights do go there, I've observed one landing myself.

So SORRY to bring back an old topic, but I was at the sears tower yesterday and meigs is just grass as we all know. But the outline of the runway is still there. I took some pics with my camera phone which I will put up in a bit.

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while, my house was struck by lightning and fried my computer, but I'm finally back.

Sorry to revive an old topic, but I saw Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals at Charter One Pavilion last night, which is the "mediocre stage" that sits on Northerly Island. I'm not gonna lie, I was impressed. I loved the view of the skyline, and the sound was good as well. I recommend taking in a concert there.

Also, the stage will be gone in 2009, as the island will be turned into a nature preserve.
