Diddo, I'm not to atheletic so GYM was not fun for me. And then, even when there was a sport that i played (tennis), there were to many jerks screwing around to even get a serious game going. I definitely would have forked over a dollar a day.

I forgot about that. The only way to get out of it in our school is if you are in a sport and you can leave gym for a study hall, I forgot what it was called though.

That's the only thing about Florida schools that I think is better than Illinois ones. Here we're only required to take one semester of gym, unless you're in IB, in which case you're completely exempt.

Our nazi school just refers to it as "exemption." I actually like our P.E. program, although they're not tough enough. You have to do "requirements" each semester, the requirements are basically cardiovascular exercises (i.e. running, basketball, aerobics, mountain bikes, stationary bikes) and weight room. The thing I don't like about it is that how well you perform in a fitness test determines how many requirements you have to complete. Basically, the more situps you can do, the less running you have to do. It makes no sense, people should be running on the track 5 days a week and hitting their target heart rate, whether or not they can do 25 or 65 situps a minute. I also love first period gym, running in the morning really wakes me up. I'm joining Gold's this summer so that I can keep on running while school's not in session.
I got lucky, in Michigan(the U.P. ) we were only required to take .5 of gym, and .5 of health to graduate.
Like others have said, I would have gladly forked out $$ to skip algebra, geometry, and even biology classes. The only H.S. class that ever came in handy for me was Chem.
Next year I am taking personal wellness, where writing takes place, and gym is only 2 or 3 days a week. I was hoping to get out gym period by taking a career class, but NO, no one accepted me.
