MP3 Shortening Program

Does anyone know of a program that I can use to shorten mp3's?

No, by no means is that illegal.

You can go to your local Circuit City/Best Buy and pick up something like ACID or several other programs that cost about $50 and will allow you to be able to edit MP3's and other files.

Gold Wave is another REALLY good free program.

I reccomend it as it's a small download and works well, you can load movies into it and cut out sound.

Edit, if you want to make ringtones, I further reccomend goldwave as it can change the bitrate to a lower quality to make the files smaller and fit onto a phone, I use it to make my ringtones.
