As you can see, Steel Hawg's structure is complete! Crews are working on tightening bolts and getting the eletric ready. The ride is coming along quite nicely! In fact, at least one car arrived at the park today, Monday June 16th! If the weather holds up, and everything else goes according to plan, here's hoping that we will see this ride in operation very, very soon!
Woah. I had no idea IB was getting THIS. I thought it would be like... less intense looking. I don't know, I never paid attention. Guess I'll definitely have to go to IB, maybe on its opening day?
I would think it would open, if nothing unforeseen happens, in a week to two weeks. It is already testing, and if things go according to plan, should hopefully open soon...hopefully. :)
I'm the luck devil who gets to be the Crash Dummy for that terrifying 120 degree free fall. My video, The Directors' Cut won the First To Ride Steel Hawg contest and is featured on the I.B. MySpace page. I got permission to film on-ride for the big event so I'll be posting that soon after opening day. Stay tuned.
Oops. Erase that on-ride part. Adam was overruled and I've been informed cameras will not be permitted on the Steel Hawg... too dangerous. I'll film what I can off ride and enjoy that free fall with an unobstructed no camera in front of me view.
