Six Flags Great America is preparing to unleash its newest thrill, Wrath of Rakshasa, opening May 31st. This Dive Coaster, crafted by the renowned Swiss designers Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), adds another impressive attraction to the park's collection, which already includes B&M creations like Batman: The Ride, Superman: Ultimate Flight, X-Flight, and Raging Bull.
Wrath of Rakshasa boasts the most inversions of any dive coaster, totaling 5, including an Immelmann, Dive Loop, and multiple Zero G Rolls. Riders will ascend a towering 180-foot lift hill before plunging 171 feet down the world's steepest dive coaster drop at a staggering 96 degrees. Spanning 3,239 feet, the ride will operate with three trains, each seating 21 passengers in 7-across floorless rows. Reaching a top speed of 67 mph, this coaster delivers an unmatched adrenaline rush.
Located in the County Fair section, Wrath of Rakshasa features immersive theming that tells the story of the Ornelas brothers' traveling exhibition, "The Wrath of Rakshasa." The area includes detailed elements and a massive ancient golden sculpture of Rakshasa! Riders must be 48 inches tall to challenge the Wrath of Rakshasa.
