This coaster is the only one left of its kind in the country and the only coaster in the park that adults and kids 36" and taller can enjoy.Tell ya what. Why dont we just ask SF to tear the whole park down and just start over from scratch? We can have them just construct only 500ft tall and speeds of 100 mph plus on all their coasters. Would that make you guys feel better?
Dude you know how long that would take!?!? People would be pissed off!
Well people take things differently!!! There were a couple posts that i was going to snap on but i read them again and thaught its probally a Joke so i steped back and watched for somone to get pissed and respond
The joke was that Shockwave was so big that they could just split the coaster into half, the loops and what not and send that to one park, and then the half with the corkscrews and boomerang to another. That is the joke I believe, but extremely far-fetched.
The only issue maintenance has with the Whizzer is the lift hill. The rest of the ride is not a problem. If they can re-configure the lift to something other than the electric motors that power the train up, the ride will be around for a long time.
How would the electric motors on wizzer be a major reason to take the ride out? Is it just because of high running costs?
To tell ya the truth...I hope that American Eagle gets gone. I mean, the whizzer is actually pretty fun, and we need light rides for our younger guests. The American Eagle has no big thrill...
I didn't vote for any, i think that rip cord ride should be gone, that would free up a lot of space and you could just build over demon and go through American Eagle!
Wow, I didn't realize any poll threads were still around. But anyways, Whizzer's lift I've heard is a real pain for maintence. I also heard that spare parts are hard to get, and are very expensive. Also, Whizzer can't run if the track is wet, I guess. I don't know if thats true, or why it would be true. The El in Chicago uses a 3rd rail, and it runs when it's wet. I'm sure Whizzer's 3rd rail is just as insulated as any mass transit system's 3rd rail.
Whizzer- Classic ride, filled with fun for the whole family. Should Stay!Shock Wave- Intense ride, with lots of loops for thrill seekers- Should have stayed! All the others- Great rides! I hope none get removed!
I think thw Whizzer should stay because it is a great roller coaster for the kids. without it the older people would be paying a lot of money 4 their kids to walk around and see these coasters they cant ride. American Eagle has to stay I mean come on, its a classic. Now Iron Wolf I think that is possibly the worst roller coaster in the whole world. It is not that old and it is the most bumpy ride ever!
Its hard to come up with signatures. When I get one it will be right here.
Are you nuts....Iron Wolf its the most intense B&M coaster out. I think that Iron Wolf is fun. Moving on, I do not want any coaster or ride to be removed, but I think that Whizzer or American Eagle are the next to go . I love both rides, but you never know. With all the probles with Déjà Vu .
Iron Wolf isn't my favoite, but I never want to see it torn down! in my opinion SFGAm really needs to start Adding coasters again without removing any. Look at it this way, Shock Wave was able to make it all these years with the addition of SW territory, and several other coasters. And then was removed for a coaster that doesnt take up much space at all! Same thing with Sky Whirl. I just hope we dont see a removal of another ride any time soon.
I love IW. Its not rough at all. And I agree with what chitown said on the other page. I dont want any rides to go but if I had to choose one then it would be the Demon. I love that ride but I just think it eill be the next one to go.
I actually heard a rumor a little while ago that the demon might be taken out. It doesn't have the crowds it once had and has become a stereotypical arrow looper. Demon also has a large enough footprint that they might fit a medium sized coaster in there. That would be a strange day when you are crossing the Train tracks by SW Territory and there is no Demon tunnel or corkscrew going over your head.A downside to Demon leaving though would be that with shockwave gone, the Demon is the only traditional sitdown looper in the park. I definately would not want to see it go, unless it was for something new and exciting and one of a kind.I'm sick of clones at this point. Up untill we got V2 and Superman SFGam didn't have a clone. It had a few twins, [Deja Vu, Demon(Turn of the Century), Whizzer, Tidal Wave, Shockwave] but all were a bit original.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name
I don't care if a rides a clone or not, I love S:UF. But removing a huge great America land mark like Shock Wave to get a small clone of another parks original design gets me mad. S:UF is a great ride, but it easily could have been placed in the parking lot next to SSA. Hey, SFGADv put their S:UF in the parking lot and left their Arrow Mega looper alone.IMHO, I would much rather see this: http://rcdb.com/installationgallery1976 ... ure=55Than just this: http://rcdb.com/installationgallery1977 ... ture=3When walking up to a park.
