The past couple times i have gone on Batman the Ride, in the first or second loop I have started getting really weird feelings where my vision sort of just went whitish-gray. It was like blacking out i guess but not?
It was very scary though. I used to be able to re-ride Batman over and over again without issue but now each time I ride i experience this at one of the inversions.
Might it have something to do with being on a bit of an empty stomach? I just dont want to go unconscious on the ride. I did some research on this, and it is not a blackout but called a Brownout or gray-out.
From the site "Another common occurrence of brownouts are in roller coaster riders. Many roller coasters put riders through high positive G forces, particularly in vertical loops and helices. Roller coasters rarely have high enough negative G forces to induce redouts, as most low-G elements are designed to simulate weightlessness."
Anyone else experience this? Its the only ride that I have had issues with lately or ever. Possibly Raptor at CP on the Cobra Roll. Its pretty scary in my opinion, since i used to be able to go 4 times in a row on Batman
It's not dangerous in the least (for the amount of time that you experience it on a roller coaster) but Shockwave always caught me, from the entrance to the second loop to the block brake. Nitro's pre mid course helix always gets me also.

But my friend didn't believe me... because he said he's ridden it 8 times in a row and he felt nothing (I've ridden it 10 times in a row). so then we got in a huge argument. He said it couldn't happen... WELL TAKE THIS FREAK!
I have always had this problem when I go on Batman, usally the first loop and the helix on Nitro. It is nothing to worry about. Like I said it happens to me every time I go on Batman and I always go on it over and over again.
Front is worse. From the bottom of the drop to the top of the loop you experience 4Gs for the longest period of time on the ride. The back is forceful but only for a quick time.
I would suggest 2nd/3rd front or 2nd/3rd last row. The middle pulls the Gs for a longer period of time, although not as intense, the duration will make you grew out. And the front and back of the car pulls crazy Gs that are very intense compared to the inside rows.
Never happened to me on Batman but just like FParker, I always would experience a greyout on Shockwave sitting near the front of the train going through the 3rd loop.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
^^ I know I really wanted to ride BTR today when I went, and yes I have greyed out, just coming out of the 1st loop and about half way through the Zero G.
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
It happened to me the last time I rode it. Before that I was fine. I think you are right that it may have to do with an empty stomach because I didnt eat all day that day.
The last two times I've ridden it it's happened to me. Twice has been enough for me to say that unless I'm with a bunch of people who desperately want to go on the ride, I won't ride it again. It's not damaging long-term or anything, but it is extremely unpleasant and makes you feel like crap afterwards. Even when I don't grey out, the ride moves so fast and turns and twists so much that I still come off the ride disoriented.
