^ This is great data! Thanks for posting this. I can't believe that Disney World gets over 20MM visitors! That's mind blowing.

It's good to see the park increasing in attendance. We've had some great additions over the past few years!

^ Agreed about the new additions! In just 6 years, we've had 3 major coasters added -- X-Flight, Goliath and Joker, as well as Justice League.

Look at 2010 and up. It's better than any other six flags park. 3 major coasters, 1 ressurected kiddie coaster, water park expansion, dark ride and 3 kid rides. Damn that's impressive!

^ A new waterpark addition and a flat package would really complete that list. Hoping that's what the next 2 years will bring

Hey CoastRiderSC, I find it interesting you think that giant drop will close in 2019. Care to enlighten me why you would think that?

Other SF parks have gotten better overall attractions that I would trade in second..look at SFOT

Flats - Zamperala Discovery, Zamperla Endeavour, 400 ft Sky Screamer, revamp/retheme tilt a whirl, Justice league(same as SFGAm)

Coasters - New TX Giant(RMC), Revamp of Mr Freeze(reverse trains), 4D Joker(same as GAm)

Kids - Bugs Bunny Boomtown and Wahoo Racer

The diversity of their additions is much better, especially their flats which SFGam is sorely missing.

2010:

SFOT: Nothing from what I can find
SFGAm: Kiddie Coaster and Nighttime Parade

2011:

SFOT: New Texas Giant(large steel Coaster)
SFGAm: Waterpark Expansion

2012:

SFOT: New Show and Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast(literally flipped the trains and rebranded it)
SFGAm: X-Flight(large steel Coaster)

2013:

SFOT: New Waterslide
SFGAm: Nighttime Parade and 3 Backwards coasters

2014:

SFOT: Expanded Kids Area
SFGAm: Goliath(large wooden coaster)

2015:

SFOT: Justice League
SFGAm: New Kids Area and general 40th Year Celebration

2016:

SFOT: Flat Pack
SFGAm: Justice League

2017:

SFOT: Joker(medium steel Coaster)
SFGAm: Joker(medium steel Coaster)

Summary:

SFOT: 2 new coasters(1 of which isn't even 'new' but a renovation), a flat pack, a new show, a waterslide, Justice League, and an expanded kids area

SFGAm: 4 new coasters(1 of which is a relocation, but still new to the park), 2 new shows, a waterpark expansion, Justice League, and a new kids area.

Literally the only thing SFGAm doesn't have is the flat pack. Other than that, we trump SFOT in literally every other category. We've been nearly spoiled with how well our park has been treated. Saying that other parks have gotten better additions is plain stupid.

Max, I didn't read this anywhere but it's a prediction I came up with on my own for the following reasons:
1) Ridership is WAY down on this ride. It's usually 15 minute wait or less (if not a walk on)
2) One (or more) of the gondola's is almost always not operating and at the top of the tower
3) The ride is coming up on 20 years old. (I am not sure what the life expectancy for one of these towers )
4) The ride is frequently getting stuck. I got stuck 2x in the last 2 years, and I don't really ride this thing all that often.
5) They put the VR on this ride -- that doesn't mean it's going anywhere necessarily but my hunch is that they're putting VR on rides to revive interest or to showcase them for sale to a smaller park

A Skyscreamer would fit nicely in this spot. They can call it Southwest Whirlwind or something like that!

As for the date, I thought all the 9's were catchy (9/9/2019)

^^ Nice work with the side by side analysis for 2010-2017 for SFGam vs. SFOT, Cam!

240ft sky screamers are blah and the town height limit means no 400ft sky screamer. Giant Drop was a walk on to 5 minutes on non weekends last year. The things is they won't get rid of it b/c a drop rides is a must have for any decent park.

It's hard to say as ours is a G2 drop ride which debuted in the 90s so most are still fairly young. I do know there are 30+ year old G1 drop rides (such as The Edge we had) still operating.

How the heck does SWO build a B&M Hyper and drop 7.9%. What park did we knock out of number 20 anyways.

Well to be fair, Blackfish is still fresh in everyone's mind.

Knocking BGW off the chart is impressive. It's an amazing park. If it has a few more family and thrill rides, I'd prefer it to Great America.

I can see why u do, it's better themed, has some great coasters, and although we may have the edge on thrills, bgw has just overall a much better rounded park
