Superman mixed reviews be damned. This ride rocks! So what if it's "forceless" after the pretzel loop! That time is meant to recover! Went back row, and on it only once. The restraints were excelent, and the whole ride is amazing. I can't wait for the landscaping to be finsihed.I ended up with rides on all (open) coasters. Each once, except Whizzer got 2 rounds. The only thing I didn't get on that I wanted was Giant Drop.Lines were not bad, the longest wait was a little over a hour for back row on Superman. Otherwise, everything was 10-30 minutes.I also rode Lobster (it's back with a new shine!), Orbit, Fiddlers Fling (one group had 3 people in 1 car. I think they regretted it.) Sky Trek Tower, and Space Shuttle America to get out of the rain.It rained for about an hour, at which point my group of 3 became 2 when we ditched cry baby Paul. If you go, dress for the weather. Don't complain you are cold! I was cold, but still had fun!
I liked the rain. The only thing it effect was Iron Wolf for us. We got in line, 2 minutes later, they said it was closing. Got out, went on the Fling. Cold, yes, fun, yes, worth it, yes. Ended up with a 2 train wait for Whizzer at the end of the rain, and a 10 minute wait for V2.
Thats my point exactly about S:UF also Travis. The ride pretty much glides along after the pretzel, but "Sweet mother of all that is holy"!!!. That pretzel is a G producing element. When you are on your back you feel like your organs are pressing through your spine.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
It looks like Physics Day on the 7th was just like the 6th. The lines sounded like they were all the same (10-30 min) and they had no ratmazes open on any coaster. I'm glad you enjoyed S:UF. Did you hear any change fly out of people's pockets on the Pretzel Loop? I talked to the ride-op and he said that they find upwards of 30 dollars everyday in change and billform. He says "Everyone looses stuff on that loop...Gravity is a complain." They are prob. getting tired of dealing with people who lost money/keys/action figures (people have lost these on that ride allready).
I didn't hear change fall out, but my friend who looks constipated in his on-ride pic lost 75 cents. I think he was constipated, though, when it started raining all he did was whine about being cold. I then proceeded to ditch him.
They have the onride photo for Superman going? That wasn't up when we were there on the 6th. Now I wish I could see my reaction the first time I went through that loop.
It sounds like you had a great day T_Biggs. Im glad you liked S:UF. I love the G's that it pulls when you are laying on your back during the pretzel loop. T_Biggs what else did you do that day besides ride the rides?
I hope he didn't have to take on-ride measurements or do any experiments. I took the easy way out on my two Physics Days. I searched online for ride measurements before going to SFGAm so I could enjoy the day. Then, when you get home, you give these data/measurements to your group members so they can figure out the acceleration of Viper or the G-forces of Giant Drop.
I was supposed to have someone in my group take measurements. Basically I gave them some data from the internet, and they screwed me. Oh well, they screwed themselves too. I shot up one roll of film. I'm expecting to get them all scanned and uploaded by Monday. I got a couple arial shots of Superman and Shockwave. Otherwise I didn't do much other than ride and find $12 on Eagle.
Bringing this back from the dead because I finally got around to scanning some pics I took. Not the highest quality, because it wasn't great weather for photos. It has a good shot of Shockwave's parts.http://community.webshots.com/album/72454488CVQWHR
