Mountain Coasters - Coasters or NOT?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I rode the Ski Mountain Coaster at Ober Gatlinburg last week. While rcdb.com lists it on their site I'm still struggling with whether it's a coaster or not. What does everyone thinlk?

Alpine slides are not credits while alpine coasters are. They run on a track and are gravity powered.

^ I did both at Ober Gatlinburg. The Ski Mountain Coaster (aka Alpine coaster) was just OK. I was kind of mad that I shelled out $30 for both me and my daughter to ride it 1x! An expensive coaster credit :)

My philosophy, if it's on rcdb, it's a credit

I think the thing I'm struggling with is that it's basically a SLED that you put on the track yourself! And you stop it with a handbrake.

I've ridden a few but I don't count them. There is a good argument though to count em

I mean there used to be some coasters where operators would ride in between the cars and apply braking where necessary. Doesn't make them anyless of coasters.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Senic Railways which I've ridden a bunch of them, all have uphill track. On alpine coasters everything is eiher downhill or level to make it impossible to valley. Main reason I never count em

I think alpine coasters are most definitely credits. Slides, I think aren't. But they're pretty dang fun
