Looking at TPR forums, Cedar Point seems to have held off on making their announcement for the new ride for 2016. Do you think that they're changing the name/ theme to keep anyone from thinking the ride is associated with the recent death?
^No, that would take way too much time and effort at this point since the marketing plan is likely already finished.
More likely that they are just waiting another week for this news cycle to clear so they can start a fresh one that doesn't include the Raptor death at the end of their announcement PR.

Pretty sure they are dropping the name completely. And personally I'm a little shocked that this was the first death at Cedar Point, it's one of the older parks around. Shame this keeps happening to the B&M inverts.
I doubt that the name is going anywhere... Two weeks is a short time to come up with a marketing plan of that magnitude...
For anyone that thinks that Valravn is going to be dropped based upon the folklore's connection to "death":
What do you do if this same incident happens 6 weeks later during Haunt? There might be a hint or two about death in that theming too. Do you cancel the rest of Haunt?
I'm not positive but I've heard from one of my closer friends that the name has been changed. Take Banshee and Mantis for example. Banshee was supposed to be a Standup at CP, later became an invert at KI. Not saying CF is completely throwing the name away, just saving it for later.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
