Zippin Pippin Construction Update

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Paradise on September 28th, 2010, 2:31 pm
Bored today, so I drove a few blocks down to Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin to see what they have done so far with the Zippin Pippin. I believe groundwork was started last month. This is what they have so far.

Sign and location map right outside construction zone.

Another sign outside the construction zone.

Zoomed in location map.

Got Wood?

Some groundwork being done. Not sure what that concrete structure is in the background though.

Some more of the wood. (Giant Slide in background)

One last picture before I left.

I'll be going back at least once a week and if I see any progress, I'll be sure to post it directly to you guys.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

So based on that location map, Zippin Pippin will be right along the bay?
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

If this turns out to be a popular addition (which I am sure it will), could this be the start to turn this small park into something more? Never been there but I have read about it. Maybe some other coaster and flat additions in the future to give Greenbay something to go to more frequently without having to drive to the Dells or Gurnee.

They have alot of older flats too like a Scat, Old Ferris Wheel, and an old Tilt-A-Whirl that they are looking to replace and expand. Should be an interesting year or two.

They have POV video up on the park's website of the coaster when it ran at Liberty Land.

I think you may be onto something. They purchased a LARGE amount of land to the left of the park back in '06..They have plans to replace the little ferris wheel with a bigger one in the next year or so, along with replacing the scat and tilt-a-whirl. Maybe the cement structure in the background is for something totally unrelated to zippin pippin? Only time will tell.

Ride Zippin Pippin today, and it was a blast. Scat, and an old tilt a whirl is still there. Pretty sure it's still the old small ferris wheel also. I know this is an old thread, but wasn't sure where to post it
