Deja Vu officially dead

I have no earthly idea why Six Flags made that program. All I know is that it's not a Vekoma made or authorized program.

As for the extra seatbelt, the extra lap seatbelt is still there. There is the seatbelt that attaches to the OTSR, and then the lap belt.

It's only after the 50th run that the ride goes down, not THAT bad. How many times do they launch Aftershock a day?

Dang I saw in a video it looked like it didnt have them but it was youtube quality, and knowing Stunt Fall doesnt have them I thought it might actually possible. Guess not though...

Im all for shorter height requirements but that is not a good idea, especially with DejaVu which I think warrented a 54" requirement more than any other ride because kids that were even 54 would smash their face on the harness and get bloody noses, and it will be even worse with shorter kids.

From 54"-78" to 47"-80

It was 76" not 78"

I can see why the rides loading way faster at Silverwood,they took out the extra seatbelt. That should make loading a breeze, at least 75% faster than it was here. Wow if Six Flags took out the extra belt like Silverwood did that would have fixed their big capacity issue, without it, DejaVu could have pulled in more riders than many of the other coasters at SFGAm .

Add the shorter height requirement + no seatbelts thats, well interesting. The seatbelts were there because the harnesses only went down to a certain point and those really skinny girls that ride would have a lot of space between them and the restraint, and having 47" really skinny people riding with no seatbelt, well they have a lot more space to fly around now .

Thanks for the info SFGAM07. I knew you would have some insight. I for one would not put my 7 or 8 year old on Deja Vu, especially without the extra belt. If the manufacturer says the recommended height, it should be that height. I really hope we don't see anything happen because of this.

Does anybody know how long the lines are for aftershock (still hate using that name) aftershocker said he rode it seven times in the day, it would be impossible to ride it that much in its first year here.

A lot of the trip reports are saying the line for their woodies is still longer than Aftershock's.

Maybe thats just cause of the parks size?

The reason is that the people of Silverwood are probably are not used to such high profile rides. After all, there last two were wooden rides. It would be like Great America getting Kingda Ka or X2. Ok, maybe wrong comparison. Great America is much bigger than Silverwood.

Went to Silverwood today (mostly just because of the sweet employee party we had on Tremors, Timber Terror and Aftershock tonight). Got 7 rides in, increasing my count up to 17 since opening day.

I noticed on the ride restriction signs that 47 has been bumped up to 48 now. As for the height restriction Vekoma has set on their website, I know for a fact that we got special permission from Vekoma to modify the height restrictions to 48-80. So while Vekoma may say different on their website, Silverwood did get the go ahead from Vekoma.

Wow, that is ridiculous! A 2nd grader could ride a monster like Aftershock that goes 65 MPH? How can it go from 54' to 48' just because it moved from one park to another?

What does speed have to do with anything?

48" to ride Millennium Force and it goes 93mph
48" to ride Magnum and it goes 72mph
48" to ride Eagle and it goes 66mph

Pretty soon a 1st grader will be able to ride Top Thrill Dragster. Did anyone realize Silverwood is closed during the month of October? What, no Halloween celebrations going on? Too bad for Deja Vu I mean Aftershock.

Millenium Force is nothing like Deja Vu. No loops or cobra rolls. I was on Demon back when I was 8 years old and I thought THAT was scary. Going upside down I think does make a difference.

My daughter who is going into 1st grade this year is 51 inches. By this time next year, she might be able to go on every ride in the park.

It's funny wastching all these stations and people be amazed at Aftershock thinking it is God knows what. I get that they never had a ride like it b c'mon! Deja Vu was an awesome ride but it is nothing to go gaga over. Everyone should go on it, it's not THAT scary. I just did not like the "falling forward" when haning on the towers. It was uncomfortable. Overall, not the most special ride. The towers is what makes it my fave. Other than that, I'm a Raging Bull and Superman kind of guy. I thought going on Vu August 12, 2007 it was going to be much scarier than it was. It's worse looking at the ride going instead of actually being on it.

FYI Time to remove Vu from the banner above. We should forget about the past and concentrate on what lies ahead for Great America.

I made that banner after it was announced Vu was leaving, so if I didn't want Vu in it I could have taken it out then. However the skyline and the banner looked alot better with it in there...and it was my favorite ride so it's staying

Eventually something will replace Vu so you can't really keep it there forever.
