Gurnee getting 2 water parks

More visitors might be finding themselves taking the plunge in one of Illinois' top tourist towns.

Plans for two water parks are on the table in Gurnee. One facility would be limited to guests as part of a hotel and conference center, while the other is pegged for Six Flags Great America.

Water slides, a wave pool and concession stands are among the possibilities for Great America's newest attraction, said Dudley Onderdonk, Gurnee's community development director. Great America needs only to secure building permits.
