Favorite Flat?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby CoasterDude04 on Wed Mar 05, 2003 5:52 pm
Well I was thinking of all the flats that Great America has (there's really not that many when you think about it) and I was trying to choose a favorite. I came to a conclusion that the Orbit is my favorite. I just love the freedom you have inside the cage, and being flipped upside down. What are your favorites?

Well, I do have a few favorites. But my most favorite is Giant Drop. The others are East River Crawler, Condor, and Orbit.

Yeah, flats are all considered as non-coasters, I think.

Some people complain that we don't have enough flat rides. 16 flat rides isn't enough?Sky Trek TowerColumbia CarouselRue Le DodgeEast River CrawlerCondorWhirligigFiddlers FlingAmeri-Go-RoundOrbitHometown Fun MachineTriple PlayTrailblazerRiver RockerCubascoRicochetGiant DropWhen you compare other parks:Cedar Point:17Ocean MotionChaosTroikaGiant WheelSpace SpiralWave SwingerPower TowerSuper HimalayaWitches WheelMonsterTilt-A-Whirl2 CarouselsCedar DownsMatterhornScramblerCalypsoDodgemsKings Island: 8SFWoA: 19!Wow, in the flat rides category WoA wins!In looking around the web at different parks, we are pretty lucky. So don't complain, it could be worse. SFGAm is average for flat rides.

Me, when did I say that? SFGAm can't be my homepark, I live 8 hours away from it. If I was going to call one that, I would say SFWoA just because I grew up with it as Geauga Lake. Next pick would definitely be CP. That park is sweet. SFGAm would be 3rd when it comes to home park.

I really wasn't complaining, but maybe because I consider flats as thrill rides, not family rides like the Merry Go Round, etc... I was just looking for everyone's favorite flat ride.

Anything Schwarzkopf is my favorite. Out of those 3, I'd have to say the calypso is the best flat. Simple and to the point, and that point creates a sharp pain of someone smashing them on the person sitting on the outside. :lol:Now, who knows which ride the calypso is?

Is it Fiddler's Fling? That ride is pretty cool too, I usually ride after I ride Iron Wolf.

The Calypso is Fiddler's Fling. The Schwarkopf ride that I miss is the Bayern Kurve, better know as Yukon Yahoo and later moved and named Delta Flyer.

I only started riding flats at GAm last year. I got sick on Chubasco and that wagon thing in the southwestern territory. Giant Drop and Condor are good, but the best goes to RIVER ROCKER!! :D The air time is the best (aka, stand up time when the ops arent looking)
