It is very likely it will open this weekend, if not this weekend, more likely next. I sure hope it'll be open by then.

Just an amazing ride, all I have to say.

1st, Use a spell checker, and don't use internet shorthand in your posts.

2nd, It might be a while for Deja Vu. Even though the train is on, other parts are not complete and it still has to run.

Vu probably won't be opening this weekend, so don't get your hopes up too high. From what I have heard, it has yet to be certified, so if that can move along, Vu will open, but until then, wait patiently.
Please excuse our mess, we are currently enhancing the future for your greater enjoyment.

Hey, another coasterdude, welcome!

Anyway, I don't think Vu has been running the first two weeks of the season ever except in 05.

Update... Deja vu will not be running this weekend. The train is on the track and ready to roll. Some work needs to be done on tower 2. You will probably see everyone climbing all over it this weekend. I would bet that it will be running next weekend if the mechanics don’t experience Deja vu!

*IF* I was a gambling man, I would ask you...exactly how much would you like to bet? Too bad I'm not a gambling man. ;-)

(Thanks for the update, btw :))

In 2004 I know Vu opened on opening day. Not right on time, but it definitely did open.

Thanks for the update, though. Damn, most likely to open the weekend that I'm not going. Maybe I'll make plans for the 20th if it for sure does open.

I was so looking forward to possibly being able to ride Vu a lot without horrible waits on Sunday.

Pandas?? :?

The only thing that has to do with Pandas at Great America is the Panda Express resturaunt but that wouldn't have anything to do with Vu.

I took a pic about a month 1/2 ago, of a panda crawling onto Dejavu. Look around the site, I think it's still on here.

That was 2002.

Deja Vu has opened on opening day in 2002, 2004 and 2005.

It vallied twice between the loop and the cobra roll twice in the 2002 season. The second day of the season, and then later in Early August/Late July.

2001, it's opening year, it didn't open until Fright Fest.
2003 it didn't open until late July.
2006 it opened Memorial Day weekend.

thats a funny picture of the panda, but to be serious, I dont think they will open it until memorial day weekend, as they did last year, im not basing this on anything factual, its just a hunch.

And on a different note, does anyone have any idea whatsoever why there is a height limitation on Vu? Now I understand that dangling feet flying past a railing (the wooden one is the most obvious) at high speeds is quite dangerous, but if you observe the ride in motion, everyones feet are quite safely away from it, and when I rode it last year (I was 6'4" exactly, which i believe is the restriction, correct me if im wrong) I had absolutely no issues, I extended my feet fully...but for some reason, the ride op said I could not ride one night (last ride of the night), even though I had ridden two times previously that day (which sucked by the way (the not being able to ride, not my two rides)), and it was very disappointing. I went to vekoma's website hoping to be able to email them about it, but there was no way to contact them, so does anyone know FOR SURE why they have this restriction?

It has nothing to do with feet or catwalks. If you're over 76" tall theres a good chance if you reach up during the ride theres a good chance of hitting certain "switches" on the track (hence the bar in the middle of the restraint to and on the side of the otsr).
