Deja Vu officially dead

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby BrianPlencner on Wed Oct 31, 2007 7:04 pm
Well, if we go by the list on this page

http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/ri ... Rides.aspx

the following rides are missing.

-- Space Shuttle America
-- Triple Play
-- Deja Vu
-- Splashwater Falls
-- Rides in Looney Toons National Park (Buzzy Bees, Looney Tooter, etc)

How many of these will not be back in 2008 or not is still a question. Some we know for sure like Deja Vu. As for the rest..... :?:

SSA?! Geez. I wonder how people will react with all those removals.

Triple Play isn't going... it can't go anywhere! One of the best flats in the park.

Space Shuttle America could be being re-themed with a new movie and therefore re-named. It could also be being removed for the rumored separate entrance for Hurricane Harbor.

Triple Play could be a maintainance issue. Wasn't it gone for awhile last season?

The 3 kiddie rides, in Looney Tunes National Park, are they the ones adjacent to where Deja Vu now stands? If so, there has to be plans for the area around SW, DV and such. It does seem odd to be preparing this far in advance for 2009. I personally, hope it's big.

Triple play was repainted and another park with the same ride needed a part that they were waiting for. So, instead they took the part from our park thus closing our triple play for a while.

I am so sad and a lil angry about this. It was :( (hate the fact that i used that adverb), my 3rd fave coaster at the park. Once I find out where it gets relocated I hope to visit that park someday in the near future. This totally bites for us though. How come we have to get rid of coasters to make room for other things. Here's hoping that land is being zoned for a new coaster, not TT or whatever.
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.

I know people have been saying that Theater Royal is being removed. If this is so, then they will be making the most stupid move in the entire life. Compared to other parks we are short on theaters and need as many as we can get. I can tell you that families will not return if there is less entertainment in 2008. People want everything. They want Great rides and Entertainment. Not just one or the other.

/\ I completely agree which is why I still have doubts of it, but that is what I have heard is confirmed and I am completely unsure why they would do such a thing.

I agree with this too.....Theater Royal is still a good theater. I can see they want to remove it if there isn't enough space for DK but from what I can see there looks like there's plenty of room for DK but I could be wrong. Anyways I still say that Theater Royal is a good theater and I won't believe it's going until I go to the park next summer and see that it's gone. Getting back to Deja Vu.....I wish she didn't have to go....this is one thing I'm really sad about. i didn't get to ride it much but Im still going to miss it.

SF trips 08 = 8
SF trips 09 = First trip will probably be 5/9/09 or 5/16/09 depending when I get out of school.

I know it hurts to lose a favorite ride. For the younger folks (I'm 39) on this website, now you know how I feel about losing the Edge, Tidal Wave, and Sky Whirl. I also miss Z-Force. I wish I would've gotten one last ride in on DejaVu, too. It really was a fun ride when it was operating. I just wish the line didn't move so slow, and they could've had a better system for unloading and loading, like a duel loading platform design like Mr. Freeze.

As for Triple Play- that would really suck if that was removed- another original Marriott-era ride bites the dust! I find it hard to believe that they would remove Triple Play- they just reopened it, repainted it, and replaced parts, plus it's still a popular ride. Besides, what else could fit in that space that would be a big draw?

^ Triple Play is going nowhere. The reason it is not on the website is because, in true Six Flags fashion, they forgot to put it back on the site after it reopened this year.

Considering that they dont have that many shows per day at Theatre Royale, couldnt they just have the same shows at the theatre in Hometown square where LAFF is held and move the props back and forth considering which show is playing at the time???

As for SSA, the only show that is any good that ive have seen there is Superstition, now it would be GREAT to get rid of it and the awful go-karts and use that area for a family friendly interactive dark ride ala Gobble Getaway.

If all these rides stay closed and dont open, does anyone think the park will lower the admission price due to the ride closures and less things for a family to do????(lol)

At one time last season there was talk of removing SSA and the Go-Karts and expanding Hurricane Harbor into that area. Probably just talk though.

The Go-Kart track is right next to HH so it wouldn't be that difficult IF they ever decided to do anything like that.

^ As did I. I still haven't seen any confirmation of Theater Royale's demise. Deja Vu, Splashwater Falls, and Space Shuttle America are confirmed dead. I hope they keep Theater Royale, in my opinion we can't really afford to loose a theater now.

At this time, we will not be operating Splashwater Falls, Deja Vu and Space Shuttle America in 2008.

We are planning on operating Triple Play and Castaway Creek.

Additionally, in 2008, we will debut Batman - The Dark Knight as our newest coaster, in Orleans Place.

Thank you again for contacting us.

For the younger folks (I'm 39) on this website

Whew! Now I feel better knowing that I am not the only one here pushing 40

Since Vu opened, I only managed to get about 4 rides in, but I will admit, it was in my top 3 of coasters in the park. I would have ridden it more, but with a family its hard to wait in line for God knows how long for one coaster.
