Deja Vu officially dead

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby rct2wizard360 on Fri Nov 02, 2007 9:59 am
For everyone suggesting a duel loading platform like on Mr. Freeze...
It would be nearly impossible to get that to work. When I say nearly, it probably would be. If you look at how Deja Vu works, there is a pulley for the catchcar on both towers, one of which is linked right above the station. So unless you can figure out a way to make it work between two stations...
You just lost the game.

I'm sorry.

Whew! Now I feel better knowing that I am not the only one here pushing 40

Since Vu opened, I only managed to get about 4 rides in, but I will admit, it was in my top 3 of coasters in the park. I would have ridden it more, but with a family its hard to wait in line for God knows how long for one coaster.

Since this became a contest of sorts....I'm actually almost 51. God, I'm old!

Hey, everyone, we should be lucky that DeJaVu is going for a RUMORED B&M Dive Machine. Remember Six Flags Over Georgia, they got rid of DeJaVu for a Train Ride themed to Thomas.

Secondly, I think that they should move all of Space Shuttle America stuff to the Pictorium. The Pictorium would be more popular if it was like 5D or Something and also less expensive to Operate (I think IMAX equipment is expensive). I just hope that they don't add a 5D movie with the Wiggle's.

Thirdly, If the Go Karts and Space Shuttle America are being removed. I think I know what might replace it. There was a little ride added to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom this year called Deluge and it's rumored that, that ride is being added (Warning, The Deluge idea is something I read on Wikipedia this summer).

Finally, I Would want a Dark Ride added where Trailblazer was and the Arcade is (New arcade added next to Chubasco's open area), so that way, they could theme the ride to cowboys and native americans (Being politically correct), or add it to Where the Wilderness Theater is and theme it to Looney Tunes or Scooby Doo.

One Last Thing, I'd never think i'd say this but, "I wish we got an Interactive Dark Ride themed to Batman added to Orleans Place instead of a coaster themed to Batman". You can quote me on that.

I've said my thoughts, By the Way, at Great America's website, under All Food and Fun, It Mentions "Golden Kingdom"?

Well, i think it'll be interesting to see what goes on next year. I was thinking that the new coaster would be a huge improvement to our park, however, with a lot of other rides going, we'll see if the crowd impressions are still good.

Don't get me wrong, though, i think everything they are taking out deserves to go and get replaced. They are making the right decisions on what to remove, but they should remove these rides when and ONLY WHEN they are being replaced....

Hey, maybe they'll use TR's space as a pre-show for the DK ride, Disney style! :)

That's what I have read and been hearing they want to do, but it's still sad that we lose the entertainment value that TR gave us.

Well I'm hoping since that space will be open, that possibly if we're getting a new coaster they can start construction during the season and get people thinking.

I second that. If they don't do anything with that space during the season, I'll be pissed

I should have rode it more closing night. If only I had gotten there earlier..

Deja Vu is listed, 2 units available (SFGAm and SFOG). The listing is probably outdated, as I've heard both have already been sold.

RIDE CONDITION : EXCELLENT CONDITION
Its a good thing they did all that work on the rides electrical/control system and did all that mechanical work on it this year to get it to run well.
Too bad its getting sold anyway

Capacity : 870/hr

I'm also hoping this as well! Or at least parden our dust walls so that people know that they are constructing something there....otherwise, it'll look vacant and people might get the wrong impression.

I would love to put it near my house, and have people pay to ride it! Wooo how fun that would be... until the first miscatch! Who knows.... maybe the ride may be rebuilt locally..... I have a feeling we wont see the last of it, maybe the last of Deja Vu, but not the last of this ride...... I wonder where it'll go?!

SSA area is either going to be converted into a New Theater or Bandstand area or it may be for the new water park entrance that I heard that they have wanted since 2006.

Is it a stretch to think that Triple play is in a straight line from deja vu and SWF and whatever they are put in that spot may go from SWF to triple play? its a pretty linear path down the middle of the park.

Quoting myself for added emphasis.

DejaVu2001 wrote:Triple Play is going nowhere. The reason it is not on the website is because, in true Six Flags fashion, they forgot to put it back on the site after it reopened this year.

According to Carlo, if SSA is being removed for a Theater, than couldn't they have built the Dark Knight (I would rather it be called Joker's Jinx, Mr. Freeze, or Riddler's Rampage but thats just me.) where SSA is and kept Theatre Royale? Wouldn't Six Flags Save alot of money doing what I'm suggesting?

The reason why I don't like the name "Dark Knight" is the general public probably won't relate it to the movie if they don't watch commercials for the Movie. Theming it to a villain would probably get people to connect the Ride to the Movie.

Personally, I would rather we get an Italian Job/ Vekoma Motorbike coaster themed to Batman as that would fit the theming better. Wow, its late.

Isn't it odd that Magic Mountain's Deja Vu is staying, isn't it the most problimatic (sp?) of all three?

by the way, what is a 5D show? I feel stupid asking, but I've only heard up to a 4D. Didn't know they made 5d ones.

I think it's sad that TR is going. It was the kiddie show theater. Who knows where the removal of this will end up with the rest of the entertainment department next year. Personally, I wouldn't want to see a character show at the GMH.

I believe its the same as 4d, with many different effects including larger screens, and 5d includes a flexible floor. Not 100% sure on this..

A 5D show would be a combination of Shrek at USF and Little Merimad at DHS
