Wasn't GA always open the the last week of August Not just the week ends? And is there any thing special going on?And do you think it'll be crowded because of September fest? Man this must sound really lame  . Thanks

Don't be ashamed, I probably won't even make it to Great America at all this year. We're from all over. And to the question you posed, I always thought it operated every day in August.

Last year on the weekdays of the last week of August it was closed. It's gonna be the same way this year, too.

Before I had my license which was before the 2001 season, I used to only go about 2-6 times a year. So your next visit being in August isn't sad at all.

Yeah, the first year I went which was in 2000, I only went 2 times, and the next year I went 4 times. It's really nothing to be ashamed of, because many people can only go there once or twice a year. If you're busy with other things and can't make it to the park as much as you would like to, it's really nothing to be ashamed of. I wish I could go every week or maybe even everyday, but it's just not possible, yet anyways. I could go once a week when I get my license... just 3 more years.

Hey Thanks alot. 8) I live all the way up in Marinette Wisconsin. Thats almost in Michigan. I think they changed the days around a bit because of the new school prgram I think. Doesn't school start sooner now?

You live in Marinette?!?!?! My dad's from there, and we're up there all the time! That's kind of cool... Well, I live in Appleton, so I'm not a whole lot closer than you (only about 1 1/2 hour closer). That's too bad that you won't make it back till august... That's how it used to be for me (before I was really into roller coasters). This year I'm expecting about 6-8 more trips (I've already gone 3 times).

Hey all! This is my first time posting, but I've been a lurker for quite a long time.I am a huge fan of Great America, as it is my absolute favorite place to go. But I can not make it there very often, as I live pretty far away. I'm in the same neck of the woods as ericleister, but I am actually in Michigan. I live in Menominee Mi, and can only get to Great America two to three times a year. I've already been there twice this year, on May 10th, and May 23rd. And I currently have a trip planned for Aug 11th w/ my friends. It would be really nice if a certain green lawn ornament would be open the next time I'm there, lol.

My guess it will be running by then. But you never know of other problems. I hope it is open for you! It is a GREAT ride. I reccommend front row.
