Does anyone know for sure if american eagle is running backwards again this year? I heard it was but im not sure. If so why is it running backwards 2 yrs. in a row?

Yes it will be running backwards this year for sure. Why? I have no idea, I think it makes Blue side more unique. In previous years I would usually not even ride Blue side if I rode Red side. But now that Eagle Blue is running backwards I ride both each time. So im guessing it was to help up ridership.

Flipping that train around really does a lot for that ride and after riding it I now feel that every wooden coaster should feature one train backwards. Falling down the first hill and the force into your seat at the bottom is like no other. I love it!

Normally I dont see the red side open early/late in the season only the Blue Side. Even when we went in late July there was not a huge line for the red side. I saw many people walking out of Eagle Blue's line b/c they dont want to ride it backwards. I guess running it blue attracts some people but scares some away.

Backwards was the best idea ever for that ride... It does add so much to American Eagle.

I like it backwards better too. Last time we rode it forwards once and backwards 3 or 4 times. For both sides it was only 5-10 minute wait so we didn't care. 8)

so both cars are gonna be running backwards? that kind of sucks :( i have never ridden it forward. i only went on it backwards. i just never went on it any other time. my mom said it's better forward because the first hill is nothing backwards. backwards.. i thought the 1st hill was nothing too but i want to go on it forwards.. do you think they'll run either of them forwards at all throughout this season?

Where did it say both sides were running backwards? Only the blue side will be running backwards, you can still ride the red side forwards.

Well it depends on when you go. If you go right in the middle of the summer (july/august) both sides will be open, since the park will be more crowded. But at the beginning of the year, they'll probably only have the blue side running. Sometimes The red side is only open for a few hours during the day, (when it gets busy) and they close it a few hours before the park does. So basicly you got unlucky when you went, because it was only closed one day out of the 6 or 7 times I went there last season.

yea, well i went a lot starting in july but not on the eagle. i stil remember the date i went on the eagle backwards.. aug 20th and it wasn't running forwards and then we went on it on oct 19th durin fright fest and it was only running backwards too. so i guessi did just get unlucky.. maybe i'll catch if forward once this year at least :) lol

Both times I was there it was racing. However, they would load one side faster and instead of waiting they dispatched it anyways. My ride was not only run with both trains but it did indeed race! I was there in August.

Yeah, when I was there they had both trains going and they raced them every single time. I think was in like June or July or something.

I can't belice that they acually raced this past year. I hadn't seen them race since 1999 before that. Well if they did race a few times it would be a better experience if they always raced. I mean it is called a RACING COASTER so it should race.
